sudo apt-get install vim-puppet
ln -s /usr/share/vim/addons/syntax/puppet.vim ~/.vim/plugin/
vim doesn’t automatically pick up plugins from /usr/share/vim?
In Debian based systems, plugins are loaded from /var/lib/vim/addons.
The right way to enable the plugin, instead of creating the symlink manually as suggested here, is to use the “vim-addons” command provided by the “vim-addon-manager” package:
vim-addons install puppet # enable the plugin just for the current user
sudo vim-addons -w install puppet #enable de plugin system wide
The information can be found in the vim-puppet package documentation, locaet in /usr/share/doc/vim-puppet/README.Debian
